Berd's changed what a hotel could be in Moldova. Opened in the early 2020s and flying the MGallery flag, it stands on a quiet street in central Chișinău as a crisp composition of glass, travertine and bronze, its interiors—designed with genuine ambition—layering marble, oak and contemporary Moldovan art into the country's first internationally styled boutique. At around forty rooms the scale stays personal, and the service culture, young and multilingual, has quickly become the city's benchmark.

Moldova's underrated glory is wine, and Berd's leans into it: the cellar and wine bar curate the best of Purcari, Castel Mimi, Et Cetera and the small growers driving the country's renaissance, while the restaurant pairs modern European cooking with local ingredients. A compact spa with an indoor pool, hammam and sauna—rare at this scale—rounds out the offer. From the door, the cathedral park, central market and the national museums are all walkable, and the cellar cities of Cricova and Mileștii Mici, with their subterranean wine boulevards, are easy half-day excursions. For a capital only now appearing on travel itineraries, Berd's is the reason to stay an extra night.
