Agreeing to these terms

These terms and conditions apply to your use of the Browntravels website and everything published on it. By using the site you agree to these terms; if you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

We may update these terms occasionally, for example when we add new features. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last revised, and your continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

What Browntravels is — and is not

Browntravels is an editorial publication about luxury hotels and destinations. Our reviews, ratings, guides and journal features are provided for general information and inspiration only. They reflect editorial judgement at the time of publication and are not professional travel, financial or legal advice.

We do not operate a booking service. We do not take reservations, process payments for stays or act as an agent for any hotel. Any booking you make is a contract directly between you and the hotel or booking provider you choose, on their terms, and we are not a party to it.

Hotels change constantly — rates, restaurants, spas and even ownership can differ from what we describe. Always confirm important details directly with the property before you travel or book.

Intellectual property

All content on the site — including reviews, articles, scores, photography, illustrations, logos and the design of the site itself — is owned by Browntravels or used under licence, and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

You are welcome to read, share links to and quote brief extracts from our content with attribution. You may not reproduce substantial parts of the site, republish our reviews or scores commercially, scrape our content in bulk, or use it to train automated systems, without our prior written permission. Acceptable use

You agree to use the site lawfully and considerately. In particular, you must not do any of the following.

• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its servers or its data, or interfere with its normal operation.
• Introduce viruses, malware or any other harmful code.
• Use automated tools to scrape, harvest or bulk-download content or data from the site.
• Impersonate Browntravels, our editors or any hotel, or misrepresent your affiliation with us.
• Submit false, defamatory or infringing material through any form on the site, including partnership enquiries and correction requests.

Our liability

We work hard to keep the site accurate and available, but we provide it on an 'as is' basis. We do not guarantee that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any particular piece of content is complete or up to date.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Browntravels will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or reliance on its content, including decisions to book, or not to book, any hotel. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under English law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Third-party links and content

The site contains links to hotel websites and other third-party services. These are provided for convenience; we do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices. Following a link is at your own discretion, and any terms on the destination site apply to your use of it.

Governing law

These terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of them or your use of the site, are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, although if you are a consumer you may also benefit from mandatory protections of the law of the country in which you live.
