How to ask Browntravels to correct an error, how quickly we respond, and how published corrections are displayed.
Last updated 1 July 2026
Accuracy is the foundation of everything Browntravels publishes. We check our facts before publication, but hotels change and mistakes happen. When we get something wrong, we correct it promptly, visibly and without fuss.
Anyone can request a correction — readers, hotels, tourism bodies or anyone else who spots an error. The quickest route is our corrections page, which asks for the page concerned, the detail you believe is wrong and, where possible, evidence for the correct information. You can also email hello@browntravels.com with the same details.
The more specific your request, the faster we can act. A link to the exact page and a clear statement of what should change is ideal.
Every request is reviewed by the editorial team. We verify the claim against reliable sources — which may include contacting the hotel directly — and decide whether a correction, clarification or no change is warranted. Factual errors are corrected; matters of editorial opinion, such as scores and judgements, are not subject to correction, though we listen carefully to challenges and may schedule a re-review where one seems justified.
We aim to acknowledge every correction request within 3 working days and to resolve straightforward factual corrections within 10 working days. Requests that require investigation — for example, contacting a property in another time zone or verifying conflicting sources — may take longer, and we will tell you if that is the case.
Errors that could materially mislead readers, such as a wrong safety detail or a significantly incorrect price indication, are prioritised and fixed as soon as they are verified.
When we correct a page, we update the content and refresh the page's updated date so readers can see it has been revised. For significant corrections — those that change the substance of what was published — we add a note explaining what was changed and when, rather than silently rewriting history.
Minor fixes such as typography or formatting are made without a note. We do not remove entire reviews or articles in response to correction requests except in exceptional circumstances, such as legal necessity.
