Browntravels' commitment to an accessible website, the standards we work to, and how to tell us when something falls short.
Last updated 1 July 2026
Browntravels should be usable by everyone, including people who rely on assistive technology. We design and build the site with accessibility in mind from the start, and we treat accessibility problems as bugs to be fixed, not as nice-to-haves.
Our target is conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA across the site.
Accessibility on Browntravels is not a bolt-on. The following measures are part of how the site is designed and developed.
We are honest about the fact that a large editorial site is never finished. Some older content, third-party embeds or newly launched features may not yet meet our standard in every respect. When we find a gap — or when one is reported to us — we prioritise fixing it.
We check new features against WCAG 2.1 AA criteria during development, using a combination of automated tooling, keyboard-only testing and screen reader spot checks. Accessibility regressions identified in testing block release until they are resolved.
If you encounter any part of Browntravels that is difficult or impossible to use with assistive technology — or you have suggestions for how we could do better — please email hello@browntravels.com with a description of the problem and the page where it occurs.
We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within 3 working days and to fix confirmed issues as quickly as their complexity allows. Your reports directly shape our accessibility work, and we are grateful for them.
