Editorial research. Profiled through in-depth editorial research; Browntravels has not yet stayed at this property. How we review
A 1928 Art Deco landmark off the Champs-Élysées where extravagant floral artistry meets one of the highest concentrations of Michelin stars in any hotel.
The George V opened in 1928 as one of the grandest addresses of Jazz Age Paris, and under Four Seasons it has become a byword for full-throttle palace hotellerie. Its avenue is a short stroll from the Champs-Élysées and the Seine, yet the hotel's marble galleries feel a world apart, animated by the towering floral installations that artistic director Jeff Leatham has made a signature attraction in their own right.
Accommodation runs from tailored superior rooms to terrace suites with Eiffel Tower panoramas, all rendered in a soft classical palette with contemporary comforts discreetly layered in. Service is drilled to Four Seasons' exacting global standard while retaining a distinctly Parisian polish, which explains the hotel's enduring pull for celebrations and state-level visits alike.
The dining line-up is the property's trump card: Le Cinq's grand haute cuisine, Le George's lighter Mediterranean cooking and L'Orangerie's intimate contemporary menus have between them made the hotel a genuine gastronomic destination. A marble-clad spa and pool below ground completes a package that is unabashedly maximalist and executed with rare consistency.
Around 240 rooms and suites in cream and gold tones; upper-floor suites add planted terraces with sweeping views over the Paris skyline.
Le Cinq for grand haute cuisine, Le George for Mediterranean plates, L'Orangerie for intimate contemporary tasting menus, plus a courtyard for summer.
A serene below-ground spa with a mosaic-lined pool, whirlpool and treatment rooms drawing on French skincare houses.
The Browntravels Verdict
Paris's most complete grand hotel for eating and celebrating—pick it when only full palace theatre will do.
