Hotel Titano

The Titano is the republic's original hotel, welcoming guests since 1894 from a tall stone house on Contrada del Collegio, right inside the pedestrianised old town between the Piazza della Libertà and the cable-car station. Staying here means sleeping within the walls themselves—an experience the larger hotels outside the gates cannot offer—and waking to lanes emptied of the day-trip tide.

The interiors are simple, tidy and traditional: modest rooms with wooden furniture and, in the best cases, small balconies or windows hung over the cliff edge with the Romagna plain far below.
