Tashkent, Uzbekistan — Asia
Editorial research. Profiled through in-depth editorial research; Browntravels has not yet stayed at this property. How we review
The polished heart of new Tashkent, opposite the Minor Mosque's white marble domes and long the city's most reliable luxury base.
Since opening in 2016, the Hyatt Regency has been Tashkent's default answer to the question of where to stay. The location explains much of it: a landscaped site on Navoi Park's edge, directly opposite the gleaming white Minor Mosque on the Ankhor canal, within a short drive of both the old town's Chorsu Bazaar and the business district. The building is a crisp contemporary crescent, and the operation inside is the most consistently polished in Uzbekistan's capital.
Rooms are calm and generously sized, in light woods and soft greys with marble bathrooms; upper floors look across the canal to the mosque's domes or over the park's greenery. The atrium lobby, with its grand staircase and lounge, functions as the city's international meeting point, and staff are practised with the logistics that Silk Road itineraries demand—early flights to Samarkand, rail tickets on the Afrosiyob express, guides and drivers.
Facilities run to a proper indoor pool, a spa with hammam, and dining from an Italian trattoria to generous Uzbek-international buffets; the terrace in warm months faces the mosque. Tashkent itself rewards a day or two—metro stations like underground palaces, the Khast Imam complex's ancient Quran—and no base makes the city, or the country beyond, easier.
Around 300 rooms and suites in light wood and soft greys; upper floors face the Minor Mosque's domes or Navoi Park.
An Italian trattoria, international all-day dining with Uzbek dishes and a summer terrace looking towards the mosque.
An indoor pool, hammam, saunas and treatment rooms make it the capital's most complete hotel spa.
The Browntravels Verdict
Tashkent's reliable flagship—comfort, position and Silk Road logistics handled with ease.
