Singapore, Singapore — Southeast Asia
Editorial research. Profiled through in-depth editorial research; Browntravels has not yet stayed at this property. How we review
Singapore's triple-tower landmark crowned by the world-famous 57th-floor infinity pool, with a city of dining, shopping and entertainment below.
Marina Bay Sands is less a hotel than a piece of civic iconography: three 55-storey towers carrying a surfboard-shaped SkyPark across their summit, redrawing Singapore's skyline the moment it opened. The 150-metre rooftop infinity pool—guests only, and still one of travel's great photographs—remains the property's magnetic centre, hovering above Marina Bay with the financial district stacked behind.
At ground level the operation runs at metropolitan scale: an enormous casino and convention complex, a luxury mall, theatres, museums and one of Asia's densest concentrations of celebrity-chef restaurants. Rooms, refreshed in recent years toward a warmer, more residential standard—with new suite tiers and dedicated club floors—are comfortable and quiet, with bay or Gardens by the Bay views the real differentiator.
This is not the place for intimacy; queues and conventions are part of the deal. But as a base it is unbeatable for first-time visitors: Gardens by the Bay sits at the back door, the MRT below, and the nightly light show plays out beneath your window. Book a high-floor bay view, use the pool at sunrise, and enjoy the machine.
Around 1,850 rooms and suites across three towers, renovated in warm contemporary style; bay-view and club-tier rooms are worth the premium.
Dozens of venues from food-court favourites to celebrity-chef flagships, plus rooftop bars flanking the SkyPark's famous observation deck.
Banyan Tree spa facilities, tower fitness centres and the SkyPark infinity pool, best enjoyed at sunrise before the crowds arrive.
The Browntravels Verdict
A bucket-list stay for the pool and position rather than intimacy—first-timers to Singapore will find no more spectacular perch.
