Neiburgs Hotel

Neiburgs is what happens when a family restores its own ancestral building with taste and patience. The 1903 art-nouveau house on Jauniela street—one of the old town's prettiest lanes, a regular film set—was returned by the Neiburgs family into a boutique hotel of light, apartment-style suites, and the personal stake shows in the details: original staircases and tilework kept, interiors in pale Scandinavian-leaning tones, and a genuine welcome for children in a district that often skews formal.

Almost every key is a suite with a kitchenette and sitting area, which suits families and longer stays unusually well; upper-floor rooms catch rooftops and the spires of St. Peter's and the Dome. The style is fresh rather than opulent—white panelling, oak floors, contemporary Latvian art.

The ground-floor restaurant is a destination in its own right, serving seasonal modern Latvian cooking that draws locals at lunch, and there is a small wellness corner with sauna. With the cathedral square two minutes away and the castle around the corner, Neiburgs offers the old town's best blend of design, practicality and fair pricing.
