Pegasus Hotel & Suites Georgetown

The cylindrical tower of the Pegasus has marked Georgetown's Kingston waterfront since the late 1960s, and for half a century it was the capital's default address for presidents, cricket teams and visiting business. The oil era prompted its reinvention: alongside the renovated round tower now stands a contemporary suites-and-corporate wing, giving the property a split personality—heritage landmark on one side, modern apartment-style suites with kitchenettes and river views on the other.

Rooms in the classic tower are comfortable and continually refreshed, with curved windows over the Atlantic or the city's rooftops; the new wing suits long-stay executives, who make up much of the house. What the Pegasus offers over its newer rival is history and ground: spacious grounds, a genuine local social scene and rates that often undercut the corporate crush nearby.
