Managua, Nicaragua — North America
Editorial research. Profiled through in-depth editorial research; Browntravels has not yet stayed at this property. How we review
Managua's established international flagship beside the Metrocentro mall, the capital's reliable hub for business and stopovers.
Managua is a city travellers pass through rather than linger in, and the Real InterContinental Metrocentro is built for exactly that role. Set on the Metrocentro roundabout beside the mall of the same name, it has served for two decades as the capital's default upper-tier hotel: an eight-storey block of dependable rooms, practised bilingual service and the security and predictability that regional business traffic values above all.
Rooms are classically appointed in dark wood and neutral fabrics, with club floors adding lounge access and city views towards the Tiscapa lagoon; suites give long-stay space. The pool terrace, gym and casino-adjacent lobby cover the leisure basics, while the connected mall provides restaurants, cinemas and shopping without stepping outside—a genuine amenity given Managua's dispersed, car-based geography.
Dining in-house runs from an international buffet restaurant to a lobby bar that functions as one of the capital's principal meeting spots. The airport is twenty minutes on a good run, and Granada, the Masaya volcano and the Pacific beaches are each within an hour and a half, which is why many itineraries use the hotel purely as a first- and last-night anchor. It does that job better than anywhere else in the city.
Around 157 rooms and suites in classic dark-wood style; club floors add a lounge, breakfast and views towards Tiscapa.
An international buffet restaurant, café and lobby bar, extended by the adjoining mall's dining options.
An outdoor pool terrace, fitness centre and massage services meet stopover needs.
The Browntravels Verdict
Managua's dependable hub—use it well for business or as the bookends of a Nicaragua itinerary.
