The Dolli at Acropolis

The Dolli occupies a 1925 neoclassical mansion a few minutes' walk below the Acropolis, restored by Grecotel into the most talked-about Athens opening of recent years. The renovation kept the building's marble staircases and lofty proportions while furnishing the interiors like a collector's townhouse—Greek antiquities-inspired pieces, twentieth-century design classics and contemporary art layered against warm plaster and stone.

The defining image is the rooftop: a marble-lined pool and terrace aligned almost exactly with the Parthenon, which floats above the rooftops close enough to read the columns.
