Xheko Imperial is Tirana with the volume turned up. Set on a tree-lined street in Blloku—the once-forbidden Communist elite quarter that is now the capital's café and nightlife heart—this family-owned boutique goes for unapologetic opulence: a façade dripping with wrought iron and greenery, interiors of carved wood, patterned marble and baroque flourish, and a garden lounge-bar strung with lanterns that ranks among the neighbourhood's most pleasant evening perches. It has been the city's homegrown luxury standard-bearer for over a decade.

Rooms lean large, particularly the suites, with rich fabrics, hydromassage tubs in the better categories and balconies over the street trees. The restaurant takes Albanian and Mediterranean cooking seriously—seafood from the Ionian, lamb from the highlands, Albanian wines that surprise—and a small wellness area adds sauna and massage. Blloku's bars, the Postbllok memorial and Rinia Park are steps away, with Skanderbeg Square a fifteen-minute stroll. The maximalist style will not suit minimalists, but the warmth is real, the value strong, and as an introduction to Tirana's exuberant energy the address is hard to better.
