Marbella, Spain — Europe
Editorial research. Profiled through in-depth editorial research; Browntravels has not yet stayed at this property. How we review
An Andalusian pueblo-style resort on the Golden Mile built around gardens, a Roman bridge and one of Europe's densest luxury dining line-ups.
Puente Romano takes its name from the small first-century Roman bridge preserved within its gardens, around which an entire whitewashed village of low-rise casas tumbles down to the sea. Fountained courtyards, banana palms and lawns knit the estate together, and the resort's La Plaza hub has effectively become the Golden Mile's town square—somewhere Marbella itself comes out to eat.
Dining is the resort's superpower. The line-up runs from Nobu and a collection of international kitchens to acclaimed fine dining and all-day terraces, giving guests a fortnight of options without leaving the gardens. The sea club and pools handle the daytime, while the resort's tennis club—long a fixture of the professional circuit's history in Marbella—remains one of Spain's best-known places to hit a ball.
Rooms and suites occupy the garden casas with Andalusian textures and generous terraces, and the resort operates its own Nobu Hotel wing for a sleeker, adult-leaning alternative within the estate. It is busier and more social than its venerable neighbour the Marbella Club, trading intimacy for energy—an exchange that suits families and food-driven travellers extremely well.
Around 200 rooms and suites in whitewashed garden casas with Andalusian fabrics and large terraces; the Nobu Hotel wing offers a sleeker adults-leaning option.
A village of restaurants from Nobu and international grills to refined tasting menus, plus beachfront and poolside dining across the estate.
A full-service spa with Mediterranean rituals, a large fitness centre, and the storied tennis and padel club at the heart of the resort.
The Browntravels Verdict
The Golden Mile's great all-rounder—unbeatable for dining and activity, livelier by design than a classic hideaway.
