Editorial research. Profiled through in-depth editorial research; Browntravels has not yet stayed at this property. How we review
A private-bay villa estate on Phuket's quiet north-west coast whose name means 'the garden in the third heaven', crowned by tasting-menu dining at PRU.
Trisara occupies its own crescent of bay on Phuket's north-western shore, far from the crowds of Patong, with tiered gardens descending through palms to a private beach and every ocean-facing villa angled at the Andaman sunset. Independently run rather than chain-flagged, it has cultivated a settled, residential atmosphere over two decades—the kind of place where villas come with their own pools as standard and many guests barely leave the property.
The pool villas are the calling card: generous timber-and-stone pavilions with infinity pools cantilevered towards the water, outdoor salas and a degree of privacy that makes the resort a fixture of honeymoon shortlists. Larger residences with multiple bedrooms and private staff extend the offer to families and groups without disturbing the calm.
Dining elevates Trisara above its coastline peers: PRU, the tasting-menu restaurant built around produce from the resort's own farm project, earned Phuket's first Michelin star and champions a from-the-land ethos rare in Thai resort cooking, while seafood grills at the beachfront restaurant cover the barefoot evenings. The spa works from a jungle-edged hillside, and Phuket airport is conveniently close—one reason the north-west coast has become the island's quiet luxury quarter.
Around 40 pool villas and a collection of multi-bedroom residences in teak and stone, each with a private infinity pool and ocean-facing sala.
PRU for Michelin-starred farm-to-table tasting menus, a beachfront seafood grill and Thai cooking overlooking the bay.
A hillside spa with Thai and Ayurvedic-influenced therapies, yoga pavilions and personal wellness programmes.
The Browntravels Verdict
Phuket's most complete villa retreat—private-bay seclusion and destination dining in one graceful estate.
