Wynn Palace

Wynn Palace is maximalism executed with obsessive quality control. Steve Wynn's second Macau property, opened in 2016 on Cotai, announces itself with an eight-acre performance lake whose choreographed fountains erupt to music, crossed—improbably—by air-conditioned SkyCab cable cars that deliver guests over the water to the lobby. Inside, floral sculptures assembled from tens of thousands of blooms, carousel and hot-air-balloon set pieces among them, have become Macau icons in their own right.

The art collection is serious rather than decorative, with Qing dynasty ceramics and Western masterworks displayed through the public spaces. Rooms are among Cotai's largest, dressed in cream, gold and floor-to-ceiling glass over the lake or strip, and the service standard—a Wynn hallmark—runs deeper than the gilding suggests.

Dining carries genuine distinction, led by Wing Lei Palace, whose Cantonese cooking and lake-view dining room rank among the finest in the territory, supported by Japanese, steak and casual venues. The spa is vast and unashamedly indulgent, the pool terrace palm-lined and family-tolerant by casino-resort standards. Old Macau lies fifteen minutes north. Those allergic to casino glitter should look elsewhere; those who enjoy spectacle done superbly will find Cotai's best version of it here.
